Gloria Dalvini
Gloria Dalvini finds the environment a primary source for her paintings. Her paintings done plein air, are of homes, villages and flowers typical of the area. Her current work of South Carolina, Michigan and on her travels in Europe, present the surrounds in soft, fresh colors that give her viewers a feeling and impression of the area. Although watercolors have been her primary medium for many years she now explores oils.
Gloria received her graphic design training at the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan and after 20 years in the advertising business turned to painting full time. She operated her own studio/gallery in Beaufort for 12 years.
Among those having exhibited her work are National Bank of South Carolina Oil Painters Invitational, Beaufort Art Association Annual Exhibit, Picolo Spoleto and Roper Foundation in Charleston, SC and in galleries in Michigan, Connecticut and California. Dalvini’s work can also be seen in the collections of The Beaufort Inn and The Suffield House, The Governors House and McLean Home in Connecticut.
